I have led negotiations for some of the most complex technology and IP transactions. I represented industry leaders and innovative startups in high technology and life sciences as Special Counsel at Covington & Burling LLP, where I worked for fourteen years. I bring world-class advice and expertise on transactions and negotiations throughout the product life cycle, while managing business and investor interests, intellectual property concerns, and research and development investments.

I also served as Associate General Counsel at the United States Air Force. As a key advisor to senior officials on complex, high-value transactions with the defense industry, I created contracting and IP valuation solutions under complex regulatory regimes to develop and acquire the most innovative technology under substantial cost and resource pressures. Additionally, I led a priority legislative proposal directed to optimizing defense technology acquisitions.

I am a registered patent attorney with extensive experience in patent prosecution, patent office trials, patent litigation, and settlements. This is a core aspect of my expertise in due diligence and IP protection, validity, enforceability, and freedom-to-operate.
